Mixed results on the halibut today. Catching bait was easy! Catching halibut, not so much. From here, one guy, Jerry Knedel, limited on halibut and caught a 20" (keeper!) striper on live bait by Hog Island. Everybody else we launched landed nothing. Kinda brutal. So the fishing was good on Jerry's boat but nowhere else, it seems. I went out fishing this evening, not because of the fishing reports but because of the weather forecast. Wind is returning to the coast tomorrow. I went trolling back by Marshall and ended up with one halibut caught in front of Hog Island Oyster Company. That was my only bite in 90 minutes of fishing. A few weeks back, Gage and I were catching limits and missing two out of three bites in two hours. So, it is only mostly dead, like Westley in The Princess Bride.
