Scott from Auburn came by today to show off his catch. Yes, this was the bigger of the two. It weighed 25 pounds and ate a live jacksmelt. Scott got on the water early, got his fish, and left before the South wind chased everyone off the bay.

Robert Roth also landed a 25 pound halibut by Hog Island with help from his crew. Robert's hit a jig.

The halibut bite was pretty slow for most of 60+ boats trying for them near Hog, but a few guys got 'em. At least catching bait was easy. On the ocean there were salmon caught but none were shown off here, so no pics. Tomorrow is supposed to go a little lighter on the South wind, so maybe more time will be spent on the water and the fish can get pinpointed a bit better. The surf had at least one striper in it today, as well as a few surfperch and jacksmelt.

I'm not into combat fishing so I skipped this weekend. I am very glad Scott from Auburn connected with a beauty though!!
