Crab saga continues.

New results are in for Eureka and Fort Bragg. Fort Bragg got worse, Eureka got better. Fort Bragg had been clean when everyone else was dirty but now they've got the funk, too. Come on guys, catch up. We all need to work together. Get depurating. For your look at the numbers, click here.

So I just found out some new regs for crab 2016. All crab gear must be removed from the water 7 days prior to Dungey opener. I guess no more pre soak for sport. Commies still get a 64 hour pre soak. I guess fish and wildlife thinks it's wise for sport guys to set at midnight. I'd go on but I leave that for the rest of you guys.

Annon. You may only b feeding a few people. We have had a party at Westside for the last 20 years until this year. it helps to have stuffed pots so you can started cooking. It's not about the few hours it's about fish and wildlife showing their muscle and I hate it stay in your office in Sacramento and let us fish.

It wasn't legal to do a presoak for dungeness crab before the change in law anyway. Wardens knew what was going on, now they finally can enforce the law that was already in existence.

To bad the law doesn't take care of the real problem. Pot thieves. I hope anonymous doesn't stand for one of those dirt bags that can't set and check your own gear or setting gear on top of mine. Go back to sac!

Hope everybody knows that there is a meeting Thursday at Steele lane community center to discuss crab season 3 to 6. Sucks that some of have to work but hopefully some locals can attend.

Came down w a cold went to the meeting. Sad but get used to it. Wait till its the beef, milk, chicken and eggs are affected by something it will world war 3. At least sport gets a week head start. Mind your comments

So apparently a rock crab tested at at an unbelievable 1000 PPM a fatal dinner. If this is true and the state Is not going to open fishing in sections, crab seaon is over! This completely sucks!

What did they do? Drop a pot in the middle of a bloom? At those numbers no body should eat anything out of the ocean in Santa Barbara! Yikes! I'm going to say it cause someone else is thinking it! Crab fishing conspiracy!

Ok last comment. So I searched the state washingtons 20 year database on domoic acid levels. The highest level recorded was 240ppm.

300ppm will only give you the runs. 1000 is bad news. But our dungeness are all below 100. 30ppm is their number. It's all about women and children. The crab are gonna be huge when ever we do get out and everyone will be able to enjoy without worry.

So we wait longer before we go. It sucks, but getting sick sucks more. At least, with a statewide opener, it spreads the effort out to its usual, uncomfortably crowded normal state. Imagine all the crabbers for Northern California crowded into Bodega Bay. The regular number is bad enough. The one positive thing that I can say for this closure is that I appreciate the crab and the crabbers more. As a business owner that, I have learned, depends on crab, I can say, ouch. Now I know what a bikini wax must feel like.
