So Eddie Kim took a mysterious stranger out halibut fishing with him today. Apparently this mysterious stranger's job was to gaff fish and take Eddie's picture, as Mr, Kim did all the catching, or so I hear. Big fish weighed 17 pounds, all fish caught near Hog and all fish bit live shiners. And tomorrow it is supposed to blow, hard.

Yup, I've become a professional gaffer😎
“stick em” big bear!
For the record, I didn't name names. I don't know about other guys but I have been the gaff/net guy a lot more than the catch guy. For the record, Thumbs, I not only feel your pain, I lived it.
Eddie is on fire for sure and gaffing or netting is what puts the fish in the boat tail end of the fight...and keep the heads from coming out of the water, this makes it hard for the gaffer and risk of loosing fish
I'll gaff/net for food;)
Nothing like netting 2 lings with 1 swipe of the net. Even had a hitchhiker followed up by 2 lings. Got 2 of them but the 3rd was out of reach and didn't want to chance losing the 2 I had in the net.
I have a buddy that will never be forgiven. He snagged the shrimp fly in the net and 45 pound ling made a run snapping the line. That ling swam like a snake not like a fish. We tell him to practice his net job by catching butterflies.
