If anybody wants, I've got more pictures of Gage's hand with perch in it if you want. He had a "personal best" day on Sunday with him and a friend catching and releasing 70 perch. If anyone has any pictures of fish please send them this way. Please. Last year's fish, fish caught in Hawaii, a drawing of a fish, whatever.
On the Dungeness front, things are a bit slow as usual, but they're still catching some. A shorecaster snared six keepers this morning right in front of the store, so there's still a good chance of success.

  2. The closure starting Sept 1 is for California Scorpionfish. Lingcod, etc are open from April 15 through Dec 31.

  5. I'd rather catch 1 Dino sturgeon over 1000 perch!!
But way to go 10% of the fisherman catch 90% of the fish. Be prepared for the goo gones this weekend

  9. I'd rather chuck 1,000 casts walking the surf at Dillon with a grub hoping for a perch than soak bait sitting on the anchor waiting for a sturgeon bite while looking at oil tanks and mud flats in some fetid bay. Fetid bays are for duck hunting.

    Dandy

  10. Sturgeon fishing is great, as long as you bring a family-sized bottle of aspirin, you're gonna need it.
