What other beaches yield? S. Salmon Creek, Stinson?
Any beach with good access will yield Surf Perch this time of year. I do best a couple of hours before high tide. And like Gabe says "Don't use Berkeley Gulp Sandworms" in either Bloody, or Camo. And you don't a chance in hell of hooking a Striper in the Surf, just ask Gabe.
Can you use shrimp for bait?
I guess they would, but why? The sandworms work so well and they're so easy to keep on the hook. Sometimes one worm will hook 3-4 fish before it breaks. The 2" are best but if you get the 6" ones just break them in half. Thread them up the line using a #6 bait holder hook. 16-18' leader, swivel, bead, 1-1.5 oz. sliding egg weight. Cast out as far as you can, let it sink and try to keep your line off the waves. Reel in slowly and pause at times. Some of the biggest fish are in real shallow water right in front of you. I remember years ago off noyo or vandame i found a school of rainbow perch shot a dozen out 500 it was hard to shoot the big ones just shoot into the school and you would hit 1 of the bunch. I guess 100 perch add up to a dino um not quite.

Noyo cove and van damme state park. Found the school on my way in from grabbing (4) abalone. Perch were shot with a spear gun. Quit treating me like the media treats trump youall should be ashamed.
I think some people ate a few to many tainted grab. Domoic acid causes brain damage if youall didnt get the memo

farming is defined as anonymous hooks a hog 30 pounder gets it to the boat. Whether its a faulty net job or forgetting to clear the wires he loses it now since dfg does fish plants so in turn anonymous is a farmer not an angler. Oh and what i do in my backyard is growing!

Thanks hayseed...I most certainly will not use berkly sand worms on any beach with good access. I've never fished surf perch or strippers in the surf so really excited to try.
Good luck fishing Browndog. I fished the out going tide yesterday 9:30am- 12:00pm I didn't do as well as 2 hours before the high like I usually fish. I took home 4 nice Calico 13"-15" and released about a dozen other smaller fish. What ever you do don't fish any of the beaches around Carmet
