These guys limited on salmon today. Nothing on the boat at 2:00, limited by 3:00. It's probably a secret spot, except that you could see all the boats from the beach (as far as secrets go, this one needs more fog). Just West of buoy "02" was a small fleet of boats trolling back and forth, and when the school came in the nets were waving all over. With luck the number of boats won't increase to the point the school doesn't come in tomorrow. What are the chances, though, really? It's a secret.....

Good afternoon Willy. I'm thinking of taking my boat out the mouth of the bay, have done it only a couple times while a passenger but never on my own boat. Any tips or advice? 22 foot boat. Thanks
Just my advice stay in the bay
The best advice is this: If the bar is breaking, stay in. I regularly transit the bar in a 17 foot Montauk, and have turned around almost as many times as I have gone over it. Check the swell.....if they are too close together, even a 4 foot swell can turn nasty on that bar. If you feel like you might not be comfortable, turn around and fish the bay. Don't be a statistic.

First, depth of fish, these were on the bottom but today we caught at the top and bottom. Four at 25 ft, two at 70 ft. Second, tips? Follow a bigger boat across the bay. If they hit bottom, turn around. Safety-wise, use your head. If you aren't sure or it seems sketchy, don't do it. Trust your nervousness. It is often correct.
