The salmon are still pretty steady on the South end of Ten Mile Beach, from 20 to 60 feet of water (find the bait, find the fish). I haven't heard of many larger sized ones but the average is around 10 to 12 pounds. Bait and watermelon Apexes seem to be the ticket. Very few halibut are finding their way aboard the boats, though, even at Hog.

Man I need one of those beauty's this year. The freezer is full of salmon but one can always make room for a WSB. I am surprised that those bass are still hanging around here - aren't these water temps on the low side for them? Maybe they liked the scenery when they came up in previous years warmer waters.
Is that the biggest WSB we have seen reported locally?
According to an article in Saltwater Sportsman, white seabass lower water temp is 58. It also says that albacore's minimum is 59, but I've caught them in 56 (using pure luck). Apparently these seabass weren't consulted for the article. There was a reported 70# wsb off of the Russian River last month.
P.S. The article also says the minimum temp for bluefin is 50.....
