The salmon fishing was slower today with numbers running either 0 or 1 from the fishermen I spoke with. There was no "hot spot" for me to point out, just scratching up a few fish in the usual places. The bar had another halibut for one guy. Looks like some wind in our future, hopefully mostly keeping offshore but it will probably cool the water down again. This looks like a good time for me to take a few days off.

So does that mean Ethan and I had the best catch of the day with our 2 salmon? Who'd a thunk! We mooched a 24 and an 18 pounder (both gutted) off Elephant Rock/McClure's. Hooked two others that got away. Our unintentional strategy: make passes near the Sea Angler party boat, that thing is its own bait ball... Seemed like every time it came drifting our way we'd hook up.
In the boat: 2 beautiful salmon and one pissed off duck. Thankfully the duck let go of the hook easily.
Nice catch! And with Ethan! Msybe his black cloud has passed.
