The leopard sharks were spotted (no pun intended) today in the cove at Tom's Point (Brazil Beach on some maps). The gentleman reporting said he saw fins all over. They are probably spawning, so a sportsman would practice catch and release. For those of you that aren't sportsmen, try to pretend.

I saw the sea lion on Saturday with a powerful scope, & it looked like the shark was about 4'-5' long. On Sunday, I saw him get 2 more fish, which I think were salmon. Anyone heard of catching salmon in the channels right inside the bay between Lawson's Landing and Tom's point? Also, any news on halibut fishing at Tom's point?

While it is possible to catch salmon in the channel, the king salmon usually don't show there until July or August. Winter and spring salmon in the bay tend to be silvers headed for the creeks to spawn. 20+ years ago there was a year-round season for salmon on Tomales Bay with no size limit south of Hog Island, just to target those silvers. Now they're protected.

Where would be a good place for leopard shark fishing from the shore in this area?

I will post a map.
