The big fish of the weekend is this 30 pound halibut that was caught by Joe Bartolo of Cedarville. The big flatty bit a live jacksmelt near the yellow weather buoy.

The only thing more dangerous to salmon than a Fogal is two Fogals. Kevin and Terry worked the deck on the Predator for two limits of salmon today. And they're still talking to each other. And Dennis. It was a good day. Most of the salmon came from the general vicinity of 38º 17' and 123º 04' although the guys that strayed from that seemed to do okay and dodge less boats. The fish and bait were deep today with at least one of these pictured fish biting at 180' OTW, along with a few hake.

Eddie Kim got his brother Peter to model the limit of halibut they caught yesterday morning by 11:00. They switch to rockcod and ended up one ling short of limits. No comment on location.

Sorry guys but I didn't get names for these fishermen. All I know is that the top fish weighed 18 pounds, and other than that we'll just let the fish speak for themselves.
A lot of people came out to try their luck at the last chance for Dungeness for four months. A few guys did well (mostly boaters with a bit of prior knowledge) but for most of the crabbers there was more competition than crab. Of course, there were a few beauties caught on the pier and (tearfully) returned. The big surfperch were mostly hiding out this weekend. There were a few caught but most of the perch were of the smaller variety.
