The wind is keeping most of the boats ashore but the surfperch have come in to play, so at least there's some fishing. The perch are scattered up and down Dillon Beach and are hitting the Berkley Power Sandworms and fresh caught sand crabs.

  3. I've never fished for surfperch. I looked up the bait you mentioned. What color Berkley Power Sandworms do you recommend?

    Thanks,

    David

  4. Camo seems to be the magic color for most, but I heard the red was working for one guy. Prawns and fresh caught softshell sand crabs are working too. The big sand crab molt hasn't started yet but should happen any time.

  5. When I look at the buoy conditions it looks terrible. When I look at the Lawsons landing webcam it looks great. How is the ocean, really?

  6. The weather always looks better on camera. Next time you're out on a rough day take a picture of the water. When you look at it later you'll wonder what you had been thinking when you thought it was rough. The weather here has been crappy. Today was the nicest day here in two weeks but the ocean still wasn't too nice. Take a look at the water temp at the buoy. When the temp orbits around 49ºF, it's windy.

  7. Willy,

Thank you for the reply. As I have never done it...I'll probably just pick up something to throw in the tackle box. The fresh stuff won't hand life in my box for too long. Once again, thanks for sharing the information.

    Best,

    David
