Geoff McNew sent over this photo and report from yesterday:"Caught on crow bars with herring at the 3 mile line off the trees, this last day of 24"" Also the last salmon fishing day until May 18. Nice work, Geoff. It looks like those fish just found the krill. Let's hope that they stick around for a while, even though a lot can change (and probably will) in the next three weeks.

Nick Bauer found another halibut back by Hog Island yesterday. He's been getting a few back there. It's a far cry from the limits they're catching in San Francisco Bay but it's a lot more cozy.

Too bad no salmon fishing this weekend - water is looking great.

Great job Nick - when are we going out?

Definitely not on fire, had to put in a few long days to get the 2 I did catch, mostly large Jack's for bait, no candy bars yet, no perch, lots of pinhead chovie, a few sardines, seen the first pelicans other than that not much to report

Talking about docks, what's up with the dock at Miller Park? There's a sign there that reads the ramp/dock is closed? I walked out and saw that the end sections were chained together and noticed some broken rusty hinges. Then of-course the oyster boats came in and used the ramp, then about half a dozen kyacks launched. The sign reads the ramp will be repaired around mid-May. In the min-time if there not working on the dock there's no reason you can't launch and use the first two sections that aren't broken. Come on Marin County

Looks like awesome ocean conditions for the next ten days. Pacific halibut season opens today so with no salmon season right now it's time to find the big bad boy hali!
