Greg Gartrell showed me what would have been waiting for me out at 14 and 4, had I gone there. I chose to troll the brown and relatively bait-filled waters near Bird Rock. Bait doesn't guarantee salmon. Fishing the fleet at 14 and 4 doesn't guarantee salmon, either, but at least you're dragging your bait by salmon. I wise man once told me, "you can't catch what isn't there." Some people can, but not me.

I heard that on my radio Coastside Ch.9. That location was in 237' of water, 3.46 miles West of Tomales Point. Their here!?

Again Jeff on Miss A----- reported limits at 4x14 by 11 o,clock. I was fishing next to him at 12:00 p.m. Must have been upgrading fish or really didn't have limits at that time. What is it with this captains reports? I call bulls---
While that's possible, I guess, (I used to have a shirt that said "All fishermen are liars except you and me, and you I'm not too sure about") I've known some pretty sneaky guys that know better than to let the nets fly and call attention (and boats) to themselves. I fished by a commercial guy in a little teeny boat years ago and I caught my three halibut pretty quick while I never saw him do anything but lean over and wash his hands. I went over and told him what I'd been doing for my success and he said "Good for you! I've got 14 in the box." Just saying, not seeing it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Besides, you were working your gear and couldn't watch him all the time, right?
He said limits at 11:00. I said still fishing at 12:00. What didn't you understand. The rods were still in the water an hour later. If you have limits you pull your gear. Otherwise your illegal or being dishonest about your report.
Maybe working for a limit for crew and captain as the clients/passengers may have theirs.

Oldyeller. I was fishing right with him. He didn't go anyplace. He didn't pull gear. My report to you is what I saw. He said we have full limits at 11 am posted on Usafishing. I telling you he was still fishing when I left an hour later. Start reading the whole post before you get involved. Jeffs reports are always different than what really happens Not slandering just giving you readers the real truth about what happened
just read usa report, mike said he called in 4 limits, not "full" limits. could he not have been fishing for crew fish? you are calling out one of our local captains on a public forum for breaking the law (your second post)
Your missing the point oldyeller. The reports are carefully worded to get the reader to believe something different than what is reality. Always one to two days prior to booking. Believe what you want. I'm not the only person commenting on capt jeff of the miss Anita. Look at other previous postings. You think everyone else is having a problem with his postings. This doesn't sound the same and is not quite as exciting. 8 fish early for the miss Anita has been called in by captain Jeff.
Seanote I was on the Miss Anita the day you're talking about the clients including myself limited out before 11 a.m. you are right... we didn't want to end the day early so deckhand asked if we wanted to stay out to get crew fish we were delighted at the offer... that is why we were still fishing at noon.
Me and my son we're on the boat that day with Captain Jeff and deck hand sol we did have our limits by 11 Captain Jeff is an amazing fisherman it was my first time out on a deep sea charter boat and couldn't be more pleased with the experience I had thank you Captain Jeff for doing an excellent job and getting us our limits by 11 you are a true fisherman

Hey Willie I think Jeff's lawyer would want to know who seanote is...
I'll bet he (or she) would. I can't tell from my end, luckily for some. As a charter captain, Jeff has to log all of his catch and when and where he fishes. He's got the documentation to prove where he was. I know I get grumpy when people around me outfish me, but I just ice my hurt butt down and get back to fishing. I may even whine about my lack of skill/luck on this blog. I'm not going to crap on somebody's livelihood. I don't even use Yelp*. I would, without reservation, recommend Captain Jeff and the Miss Anita.
