Gage and Justin said the stripers were biting last night. They might be lying, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

This was sent in by Mitch Hamilton:"Another nice trip with grandson Travis and son in Law Brandon. Caught back by hog on jack smelt"
On the salmon front, the weather was worse today but at least one intrepid boat returned with five salmon in an attempt to redeem themselves from yesterday's six fish lost. That goes a long way towards redemption. Here's evidence:

Jake was kind enough to include a shot of the decent water conditions earlier today (it is bad now) and fishing location. From the photo, he was fishing a little South and outside of the boat off of Tomales Point. Hey, if anyone fishing out of Bodega Bay wants to share a bragging photo or (more importantly) a successful fishing location, send an email to lawsonslanding@gmail.com. I'll say something nice about you.

Swell turned out to be last today. Not flat. But not bad. We picked up 5 for 3 guys by 1030 and nothing for an hour and bailed for some nice lings to 15 lbs. salmon went 25. Lost a 30 class fish at the boat. 180 foot of water. 85 on the wire. 30 foot set back. Fished down south from tomales point. Fleet of about 20 boats from 200-220 right off bird on the way in

Good job for those that caught fish!! I am frustrated to no end, not one bite - nodda - nothing- zilch - zero!!! Tried on the wire 120, 90, 80, 70, 40, 30 at the 180 - 220 foot line trolling straight bait, rotary killer, and a watermelon for a short time -NODDA !!!!! I think we were by Warthog Sunday and saw him land a couple fish - that close but no takers for us:(
And what's this talk of not bad water? that water was closer to bad than good most of the day - but admittedly I am a light weight.....
We did manage a 15 lb hali behind Hog on Saturday afternoon so we were able to eat:)

Picked the Kings, in deeper water out by elephant if you know where the pile is. And some right in front of bird in about 80 foot. Alone with scattered Rockies. Long went 17.2 on the scale at home bled. Should have had our salmon

Rokeffin.... We picked our fish on chartreuse rotary killers and hot spot flashers. Chartreuse as well. The large. 42 inches from flasher on chovies. Lost a few fish out of the holder and that toad at the boat. We had a newbie on the boat out of the 3 of us. We had a few scratches too. Nice job on the hali. We got one jigging the south bar in SF on the way two days later, 19 lbs. on a rotor beer jig. What kind of boat do you run? Hit me up on the radio. When are you headed out? As far as that water, it wasn't great but spread out and a sleeper wind wave here and there. I don't mind it
