    Here's another pair of halibut from yesterday. Mitch Hamilton reports: Nice day with my grandson. Caught on live bait back by hog island. Sounds like a pretty good day to me, and from the smile in the photo, I'd say Mitch's grandson would agree.

Unless this halibut action extends into August like usual, looks like I am going to miss the season due to work and bad wind when I can go. I hope they stick around.

The worst part is I can see boats heading out and coming in right from the job. Plus I'm looking at 4 skiffs ready for action. They ARE being used to harvest from the Bay, just not by me for halibut. As soon as this wind is down I'll be out there. I think it is great that fish are being caught and many of them by old and new generations. Thats what it's all about.
